Truman’s Courtwarming is kicking off this weekend, Jan. 28, and students are very excited. The t-shirts this year are grey with stars on the back with the candidates names on it. Courtwarming Queen candidates this year are Haven Atagi, Savannah Hawley, Tyler Larson, Anna Richey, Keirsten Madick, Rebekah Banks and Ellis Station. The King candidates are Generis Bristow, Zach Graham, Rhett Khan, Joe Oswald, Tj Scott, Carter Wiley, and Jaggard Williams. All of which are great people and great candidates who help represent the them of Courtwarming 2017 “As long as stars are above you.” The theme song for the dance will be “How Long Will I Love You” by Ellie Goulding.
Getting in the spirit for Courtwarming students are celebrating by having a spirit week leading up to the Courtwarming game on Fri. Jan. 27. The Truman boys will take on Park Hill South at home at 7 p.m. Students are also looking forward to the assembly that will also be held on Friday. As students gather their spirit, they will participate in many games and class activities with each class wanting to win.
This week’s events are wide-ranging. On Monday,‘Get Up and Go Day’ students wore pjs and slippers. Tuesday is ‘Black Out’. Wednesday is ‘Camo vs Lumberjacks’, students wear camo or dress southern. Thursday is ‘Socks and Jersey Day’ where students will wear crazy socks and jerseys to support their favorite team. Friday, students will wear their class colors, in spirit for the assembly. Freshman will wear yellow, sophomores blue, juniors red and seniors green with the teachers wearing purple. The Courtwarming dance will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The tickets are for sale in the office, Thursday and Friday, Jan. 26 and 27 for $10.
