The overlook of this years political nonsense feels like it’s at an all time high. Every time we look up there is a new story pertaining to our new political leaders. Of course we know that a lot of people have attacked our new POTUS Donald Trump, since even before his election. From social media to even news media platforms have all taken their stabs at him nonstop, but the amazing part is that we live in such a fast-paced, trendy world, from deaths, to public tragedies that we have such a short mourning or incensed feelings about these things.
This is an interesting point in this conversation because the fact is, our country has held consistent to the display of their hate for the president and truth be told he doesn’t make it very hard to feel a negative way about him. I can say personally my first impression of him was when I heard him make a statement regarding his election “pitch” to African Americans when he presented the question, “What the hell do you have to lose?”
He further states in this amazing sales pitch “You’re living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58% of your youth is unemployed.”
At this point I was like wow, the man that’s trying to be president doesn’t sound very inspiring or like a positive force to the American dream of equality and prosperity. The sale wasn’t, I can do my best to make it better, or guarantee to make an effort to do this, rather it was as African Americans have nothing to lose. From there I knew I wouldn’t have much faith in him or his intentions.
As of recently, the people that did have faith in him and his political team/campaign probably have felt deceived. One of Trump’s stamps on his campaign was bringing the power back in the USA, particularly with things like jobs and manufacturing. “Make America great again” is the slogan, but in recent news ex-advisors and people in Trump’s campaign have been getting investigated for lying to the FBI about Russian interaction. The overwhelming stories of this man and his associates is just something I personally have not seen from a president. It’s scary to think that our president has been surrounded by these type of untrustworthy people. With that being said, should we consider the old saying “birds of a feather flock together”?
