Last year the Truman girls’ golf team sent two golfers to state for the first time since 2011. Now, they are sending two golfers to state for the second straight year.
Cate Maxey and Emmy Yanez both made the cut and will compete for Truman at the state tournament. “It’s a big accomplishment and something I’ve been working towards the past few years,” Maxey said.
Last year’s state qualifier Molly Bradshaw just missed out on second trip herself, but she was impressed with her teammates performances. “I’m really proud of them. The course was in bad shape, but the persevered and did well. I know they’re going to have a lot of fun.”
The state tournament will be in New Bloomfield next week. We’ll have more coverage with the state qualifiers later this week.
