Varsity softball played Tuesday night against Liberty North and dominated. The beginning of the game was slow but heated up quickly after the lightning delay that seemed to give both sides the energy they needed.
Coming out of the delay, Truman’s Mel Johnson smacked a double down the right field line to start what would turn into a seven-run 4th inning to push the lead to 8-1. In the 6th inning, Liberty North was able to get a couple runners on base that would eventually turn into a 3-run blast to make the game 7-4. After that, the game stayed consistent and resulted in a final score of 8-4.
Varsity softball hits the field again next Monday at Lee’s Summit in hopes of a repeat performance.
