Truman Baseball Goes for 7 Straight

The Truman baseball team has put together six straight victories on their way to an 8-1 start this season, and their numbers are staggering. The Patriots are absolutely dominating their opponents in every facet of the game. They have outscored their opponents by a combined score of 90-20 start the season. That means the average score of their games is 9-2.

They’ve also shown they can do it with the bats and on the mound. They’re barely giving up two runs per game, and at one point tossed three shutouts in row including one against state ranked Lee’s Summit West. And on offense they’ve scored double-digit runs in over half of their games.

Individually some players are off to scorching hot starts. Trevor Ottens ranks top 10 in the state with a .636 batting average, and Cole Pleacher’s 11 RBIs have himk ranked inside the top 20. Caden Deeney has been a monster on the basepaths with 11 steals which ranks fifth in the state. And on the mound Landon Armstrong’s 12 punchouts ranks top 10 amongst Class 6 teams.

Today, the Patriots will put their winning streak on the line against Grain Valley.
