Rumors that Charli had beef with Taylor swift, stirred up since 2018, have been recently cleared up walking through 2024-2025. There is no terribly controversial “beef” between Charli XCX and Taylor Swift. However, there was a moment in 2019 when Charli XCX made comments about her experience as an opening act for Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour that some fans interpreted as shade.

In an interview with Pitchfork, Charli reflected on the tour, saying:

“I’m really grateful that [Taylor] asked me on that tour, but as an artist, it kind of felt like I was getting up on stage and waving to 5-year-olds.”

Some Swift fans saw this as disrespectful, interpreting it as Charli looking down on Taylor’s audience. However, Charli later clarified that she did not intend to insult Swift or her fans. She explained that she was simply discussing the difference in her usual audience compared to Swift’s massive mainstream pop fanbase. She even praised Swift for inviting her on the tour and acknowledged that it was a valuable experience.

Ultimately, this moment did not escalate into an actual feud. Both artists have continued their successful careers without any public animosity. This situation serves as a reminder of how words can be misinterpreted, especially in the world of pop music, where fan bases are highly passionate.
