Senior Year has a lot of feelings. Students are ready to be done with school, but sad/scared to leave and grow up at the same time. It feels like they have been in school for a long time, but at the same time it feels like you aren’t a senior yet. A lot of people have senioritis. I’m a senior this year and just wanted to share my feelings and how others probably feel.
Senior year is the last year of about 13 years of school. We have worked hard and every year it keeps getting harder. For some people, elementary school was fun. Then middle school/high school it gets hard and you don’t enjoy it as much anymore. We are almost done and just want to be done. That is where senioritis comes.
Seniorits is when students lose motivation for education towards the end of school careers. A lot of students might put off their work and/or not try as hard. Students might also have grades drop. That is normal, but we just need to keep up with our work and try our best. That will lessen stress and benefit us for after high school.
While it has been a long time that seniors have been in school, it has also gone by fast. Many seniors can’t believe it is almost time to graduate. On TikTok, many seniors feel like they are still in the grade when Covid happened. School got interrupted. Since then, time has gone by fast.
Life after high school can seem scary. School is what seniors are used to. Once we graduate, stuff changes. We become adults and gain responsibilities. We have to get a job. Some high schoolers have jobs, but some don’t. When you are still in high school, it is stressful looking for a career. Many don’t know what they are going to do until they start college. Some don’t even go to college. If you go to college, looking for one is stressful too.
That’s most of the feelings I am feeling or know others feel. We are conflicted. We will make it through senior year, though. Just stay on top of your work and do your best. If you are scared, you can talk to a parent, guardian, or teacher for help or advice on colleges and careers. I hope people can relate to this and/or it helped some people.
