The Secrets to Good Grades (Opinion)

BY ISABELLA BEELER

Do you struggle to get good grades? I can give you some tips. Especially as we are beginning the school year. For example turning in your work and staying on task. I can also give you some study methods that can help with grades. I have had mostly straight A’s throughout the years with 1 C and a few B’s. In general I have good grades, and I would like to help you achieve the same.

The first step to getting good grades is turning your work in. As long as you complete and turn in your work it will most likely be above a zero. Your grade will probably be 100% if you do your best. You should stay on top of your work, too. Try to turn in work on time. There are exceptions, but communicate with your teacher. Most teachers are willing to work with students if they know there is an issue. For example, if you were sick or you were working hard and didn’t finish on time.

Another tip is to stay on task. Do what you are supposed to be doing in class. Make sure you are paying attention to the teacher. You should also do your work when you get it, so it doesn’t pile up. Work in class and if you need to at home. The more you can get done during class time the less work you’ll need to take home. These things will also help you turn in your work.

For tests, you should study. What helps me is reading over my notes. Sometimes you can use notes during the test, but when you can’t use them reading over them can get the material in your head. That is what I usually do to study, but there are other ways. You can write stuff on flashcards and quiz yourself. Most teachers also give reviews and that is a good thing to do to study, too.

Those are my tips for getting good grades. Turning in work, staying on task, and studying are all ways to help. Just remember to do your best. If you need help with work just ask for help. You can ask teachers, parents, and friends. I hope I gave you some good advice.
