Reviewing the Start of School

BY ISABELLA BEELER

This past week students were starting to wake up early and getting ready for the day. Students walking the sidewalks with their backpacks on. After many summer days of sleeping in, it is time to go back to the school routine.

Monday was the first day of school. Everyone was exploring the halls to find their new classes. Each hour there was a PBIS lesson. For example, some of the lessons were about timeliness, lunch expectations, and technology policies. For lunch they had chicken nuggets and waffles, grab and go cold lunches, pizza, salads, breaded pork sandwiches, fruit, veggies, juice, and milk. We also had to complete surveys like student engagement. Chromebook checkout was also this day, and students went to the lecture hall to get their Chromebooks and chargers.

Tuesday was a pretty normal day. People were still getting used to school and there were a couple more PBIS lessons. For lunch they had beef and cheese burritos, grab and go cold lunches, pizza, salads, spicy chicken sandwiches, fruit, veggies, juice, and milk.

Wednesday was picture day for the upperclassmen. They took pictures during their English class. Otherwise, it was a pretty normal day. For lunch they had spaghetti and a breadstick, grab and go cold lunches, pizza, chicken sandwiches, salads, fruit, veggies, juice, and milk. There was also an Ideal Matrix survey.

Thursday was picture day for the underclassmen. They also took pictures during their English class. Besides that, it was also a pretty normal day. For lunch they had a chicken patty with mashed potatoes and a roll, fruit, veggies, pizza, salad, juice, milk, and grab and go cold lunches.

Friday had an assembly schedule. The assembly was at the end of the day. To make it work, the classes were all 40 minutes plus literacy time and lunch. It was a pep assembly. The Starsteppers, TruTones, and cheerleaders performed. The admins did a relay race, too. Also, the new teachers played musical chairs. Lastly, each class cheered to try to win Timmy. The juniors won. For lunch they had cheeseburgers, chicken strips and garlic toast, grab and go cold lunches, pizza, salads, fruit, veggies, juice, and milk.

I feel this past week was pretty good. I hope you all enjoyed it.
