Halloween Inspiration

BY MARCHELLE COLLINS

It is officially spooky season, which means we get to channel our inner Halloween spirit and enjoy the things we have been waiting for all year. Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on October 31st. It is known for its spooky history, many exciting traditions, and activities. Sometimes it can be hard to make plans. Nonetheless there are tons of things to be done for the spooky season.

Exciting Places:

There are places to go during the spooky season that won’t have access any other time. Haunted houses are one of them. It’s a great way to get your adrenaline pumping, and it allows you to spend quality time with family and friends. If you would prefer not being scared out of your mind you can also go to pumpkin patches, and pick out the best pumpkins to go home and carve. At the pumpkin patch you can spend your day going for a stroll and looking at all the fall colors, and beautiful pumpkins that you can later decorate. Heading to Spirit Halloween is also a great way to celebrate halloween even if you don’t plan on spending money, walking around and admiring all the spooky decorations is a perfect way to spend your day.

Boo Baskets:

Giving gifts is always fun whether you are receiving them or giving them away. Adding a spooky kick makes them that much better. Creating a little fall and halloween theme gift basket with little cobwebs, spiders, skeletons, etc. Is a great way to share halloween spirit, and it gives you an excuse to show your loved ones appreciation. These gift baskets do not have to be costly either. Going to the store and grabbing a few trinkets, snacks, and decorations is all you need.

Pranks:

Halloween may consist of treats but it’s all about the tricks. Pranks are hilarious all year round but spooky season gives you the excuse to add a little bit of gore to your pranks. A fake bloody finger, spiders falling from the walls, a snake in their bed. Are all ways to spook your loved ones and get a good hard laugh out of everyone involved.

Decorating:

Decorations whether it be outside or inside, yours or someone else’s, can be considered entertaining by anyone. Putting up cute fall decorations or horrifying halloween decorations is a good way to bring out your home and show your neighbors your Halloween spirit. However, even if you don’t plan on decorating it is always fun to drive around and take a look at what everyone else put up and either give yourself a spook or inspiration for decor ideas yourself.

Photo Shoot:

Whether it be with family or friends, photo shoots are a spectacular way to capture your memories. Adding a little spooky touch to your photos, make them unique and far more memorable.  Dressing as simple ghosts and taking your photos in the oranges, browns, and reds of fall, or getting in full blown costume and taking photos is perfect inspiration. Even doing something small and setting up your carved pumpkins and using them as props for your fall photoshoot.

Spooky season is meant for fun and spooky activities. There goes many different ways to make your month of October one to remember. Create great memories and spend quality time with your favorite people. Spread your Halloween spirit and have an amazing spooky season.
