Truman’s boys’ swim team started the season off strong, finishing first out of the schools at the Grain Valley swim meet. The seniors put on a show Hayden Cox placed first in the 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle. He was joined by a podium finish from Gary Cowdrey-Mota placing third in men’s 100-yard backstroke. 

The sophomores showed out strong giving Truman a great hope for their future in the pool, variously placing high among the contests. The team’s 200-yard medley relay earned them the edge over the rest of the teams, they gained 40 points from that race alone.  

The team racked up 337 points at the event and outpaced the hosts by 42 points to secure a victory in their first meet of the season.
